The Sentimental Journey Band will present a concert to benefit Holy Family Catholic School's music program on Sunday, April 22 at 2:00 P. M. at the Holy Family Catholic School Gymnasium, 786 26 1/2 Road, Grand Junction, CO.
The program will include a variety of band music to entertain an audience of all ages. Also performing will be a Woodwind trio ‘Tri-Tones” with Francie Barnes, Marilyn Veselack and Sheri Lewis, and a clarinet duet "Dueling Licorice Sticks," with Marilyn Veselack and Van Merritt, accompanied by Penny Jansen.
Admission to the concert is free, and donations are encouraged. All money raised will benefit the music program at Holy Family Catholic School. Sentimental Journey Band Director Ron Veselack is also the instrumental music director at Holy Family.
Other directors for the concert are Dennis Reuss, and Van Merritt, retired band director from Parachute. The Sentimental Journey band practices at the school every other Monday night.
This is the fifth benefit concert the Sentimental Journey Band has given for Holy Family Catholic School.
The Sentimental Journey Band is an all-volunteer organization of approximately 20 adults who enjoy playing instrumental music. The band often performs for residents in assisted living and nursing homes, as well as for special events at churches and non-profit organizations.
